Background & Objectives: The unsatisfied demands of employees can present itself in different forms such as lower output, efficacy, effectiveness and aborted objectives of the organization. Periodic evaluation and investigation of the demands of staff can increase satisfaction and motivation among them.
Methods: In this descriptive-analytical study stratified systematic sampling was used for selecting the employees both with and without academic education. The total sample size was 615. The data were collected by means of a two-section questionnaire and analyzed by EPI Info 2002 and SPSS (ver.11) statistical packages.
Results: 23.2% the staff members were not satisfied with their job. 26.9% of those bearing an academic cerrtificate were not happy with their field of study. 63% of the personnel were not satisfied with the health authorities’ attitude towards their welfare state. There was a 51% dissatisfaction regarding the concern about the issues related to the staff. There was also a 44.2% of dissatisfaction among the staff members about the performance of the related deputies. 35.9% of the personnel were not satisfied with their manager about paying attention to their problems. The staff requirements were graded as follows: self-actualization, respectability, social belonging, security and physiologic needs. There was a reverse relation between the personnel satisfaction and level of management. The findings indicated that the staff were more satisfied with their direct manager (64%) compared with university administrations (49%). There was a significant relation between the personnel satisfaction and their level of education (p<0.05). The relation between satisfaction with organization performance and sex was not statistically significant. The findings indicated a significant relation between type of education and different levels of personnel’s needs. The relationship between satisfaction and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs was investigated using Chi-square test, which indicated a statistically significant relationship only between group D needs and job satisfaction (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Staff satisfaction with university administrations of Ardabil university of medical sciences and health services was low. Moreover, the self-actualization and self-esteem needs were of high priority among the employees.

Background & Objectives: Since the students majoring in different Fields of medicine are going to play key roles regarding Community health in the future, it seams necessary to characterize problems threatening their mental health. This study was performed in order to evaluate students’ mental health status in Ardabil University of Medical Sciences
Methods: In this descriptive-analytical study, 352 students were selected through census and were requested to fill out general health questionnaire (GHQ) with 28 questions as well as personal information questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and chi- square.
Results: The findings indicate that students have problems in physical (1.7%), and social function (4.3%), anxiety and insomnia (2.3%) of them suffer from severe depression (2%). Also according to cut point (23) 22.7% students were suspected of mental disorders. In this research, there was no significant difference in mental disorders between male and female students, but there was a meaningful relationship between status with paternal educational degree and family size and mother's job (p< 0.05).
Conclusion: according to the findings, student's psychological evaluation and counseling service in different fields to promote student mental health, is recommended

Background & Objectives: In addition to the socio-economics costs, Diabetes is a major cause of illness and death at all groups. Diabetes affects over %10 of adults in the world. Despite promising trend in improving many aspects of health Care and treatment in the last decade in our country, little attention has been paid to the subject of registering Diabetes on an international standard. Quality improvement of treatment, identifying high risk groups, controlling, preventing and evaluating of diabetes, would materialize only when the national Diabetes Registry System is established and its data are collected and completed on time. The aim of this study was to suggest Diabetes registry system in Iran, to meet the health and medical needs.
Methods: This Comparative Cross-sectional study was conducted to evaluate the developed national diabetes registry systems in 2003. In this study national diabetes registry system in Britain and USA was evaluated by library resources, Websites and Email communication with internal and external specialist. Suggestions were made on the basis of economic cultural and geographic situations. These axes included aims, structures, data elements, registration, data collection processing, and classification and control of quality of system.
Results: The results show that in order to optimize the diabetes registry system, structure, data elements, information gathering process, main goals, registration criteria, Classification systems and quality control mechanism of the current national diabetes registry system should be reevaluated.
Conclusion: Considering the results and international diabetes institutes recommendation, the decrease in poor registry and increase in quality can be the advantages of model suggestion in comparison with the country's current system.

Background & objectives: According to importance of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in production of different cell lines, transplantation of these cells are used for treatment of many different diseases during cell therapy. Viability and proliferation of these cells after transplantation are very important. Since infertility is as public health problem in men and women, the scientists attempt to produce germ cells from differentiation of stem cells. It is supposed to use these cells for treatment of different illnesses especially for men with lack of germ cells in testes in future. However, in using stem cells for cell therapy the culture medium should be designed to increase the number of cells and efficiency of transplantation and to guarantee the health of the cells in terms of DNA damage. This study designed a suitable culture medium in order to increase the number of colonies and decrease the cell injuries.
Methods: In this study mesenchymal stem cells isolated from bone marrow of mice and exposed to retinoic acid (RA) with concentration of 10-6 M and Sertoli cells condition medium. Since mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) produce fibroblastic colonies so the number of colonies was counted every 3 days after culture (days of 2, 5, 8, 11, and 15) under inverted microscope. The staining of ethidium bromide-acridine orange was also done for determination of apoptotic nucleus in days of 10 and 15 after culture.
Results: The results showed that the effects of retinoic acid on grow and viability of MSCs is related to the time. It seems that RA increased the proliferation of the cells and the number of colonies increased in low time but the apoptotic cells elevated with increasing the time of culture. Condition medium of Sertoli cells also increased the proliferation of bone marrow stem cells.
Conclusion: According to proliferative properties of condition medium, it seems that using condition medium together with RA is better than RA alone for differentiation of MSCs to germ cells.
